First National Real Estate 4th Friday Pairs – 28 July 2023
On what was almost a summer’s day in the middle of winter with barely a breeze, conditions were perfect for a peaceful afternoon in the sun.
Only 26 bowlers participated but that did not detract from the enjoyment of those present as we all fitted in on Green 2.
Visitors from Avalon (John and Marilyn Rushton) as well as Kathy Anderson from Seaforth and Earle James joined the Belrose bowlers and 10 teams of pairs and 2 teams of trips took to the green.
The best performance came from two of our visitors, John and Marilyn Rushton and John Gray, (one of the Triples teams) who walked away with the first prize of $60 with stalwarts Kevin Toovey and Ken Alderton scooping up the second prize of $30 on offer. Rody Manning and Max Turnbull won the consolation bottles of wine coming in third.
Max Turnbull drew the weekly jackpot and his rink consisting of Rody Manning, Kathy Anderson and Trevor Lessing shared the jackpot prize of $240.
