Belrose Chemist Triples – 18 August 2023
41 bowlers competed in three-bowl triples games on two windswept and wet greens following an inch of rain the night before. One bowler doubled up as a lead and skip using two sets of bowls, given we were one player short. He managed to put down 132 bowls during the afternoon!
We welcomed a number of visitors – Rob Root, Tony Johnson and Vicky Sawtell from Newport, Wayne Morris from Asquith, Scott from Lane Cove and the peripatetic Dafna from St Johns Park.
The winner for the afternoon was the team of Susie Evans, Vanessa Kenny and Lorraine Fevre with minor winners being the team of Frank and Janice Grubisich and Wayne Morris and that of Matthew Brain, Kevin Toovey and Ken Alderton.
Doug Murphy was the player chosen to try for the big money prize but he failed to draw his rink number so the jackpot “jackpots” to $240 next Friday.
The raffle attracted “donations” of $147.
