First National Real Estate 4th Friday Pairs – 28 Jan 2022
Today, we welcomed 32 players playing on 8 rinks of 3 games of 2-4-2 format, with 8 ends played each game. Geoff welcomed visitors Keith, John and Phil from Chatswood, Tony from Killara and Jenny and Jacqui from Seaforth. New bowler Bruce McAndrew was also welcomed to his first Friday game. The weather and playing conditions were good on fast greens.
Michael Buckley from First National Real Estate was able to join us today (as usual) and we extended him a big warm welcome with “3 cheers”. We very much appreciate FNRE the forest sponsorship for today’s and the 2nd Friday of the month bowls.
Today’s jackpot was worth $200 and the lucky winning player was Ken Pride and his name was drawn by former player and longtime member Neville Cleary. The prize money was shared between Ken, John Venteman, Peter Spray and Geoff Godfrey who all played on rink 16 in the first game. Rody requested a steward’s enquiry however his request was rejected.
Only 2 teams had 3 wins today.
Second place winners with 3 wins and 12 ends was won by Tony Gale and Phil Slade from Chatswood BC and they received a bottle of wine each.
First place winners with 3 wins and 19 ends won was Jacqui Morgan and Jenny Roberts and they shared $70.
Today’s helpers of Geoff, Ian (Tinkey) Tink, Rody and Peter N are thanked for all their efforts.
Next Friday is 4 bowl pairs of 2 games of 11 ends sponsored by Barrenjoey Smash Repairs.
