First National Real Estate 4th Friday Pairs – 26 August 2022
The BOM weather forecaster said it would rain. It was correct. The result was that 34 bowlers managed to complete only two of the scheduled three games and arrived back in the Clubhouse cold and wet.
Visitors from Queensland (Liz Boyd and her friend Burnzy) joining four Belrose bowlers to make up two triples teams to allow 14 teams of pairs to battle it out for the prizes. The shivering Queenslanders were heard lamenting the cold weather and wanting to return to Burleigh Heads.
The best performance came from Paul Stracey and Charles Chapman who walked away with the first prize of $60 with Ian Tink and Neil Mills scooping up the second prize of $30 on offer. David JP Smith and John Clement won the consolation bottles of wine coming in third.
Dennis Gorrick drew the weekly jackpot and his rink consisting of Dennis and Jill Gorrick, Mark Johnston and Bob Sim shared the jackpot prize of $60.
