First National Real Estate 4th Friday Pairs – 24 March 2023
24 bowlers enjoyed a beautiful autumn afternoon all competing on Green 2 in 3 games of pairs using the 2x4x2 format.
Special mention was made of Darrall Cutting, who played his first (competitive) game as a full bowling member at the Club, having graduated from the U3A introductory sessions.
The best performance came from Kevin Toovey and Ken Alderton who walked away with the first prize of $60 with Mike and Sue Evans scooping up the second prize of $30 on offer. Bob Leonard and Doug Murphy won the consolation bottles of wine. A mild objection was raised by an unnamed bowler against the decision to award a prize to a pair who had two draws which was counted as a win! He was overruled.
Neil Mills was selected to draw his starting rink number to win the jackpot but did not succeed. $60 will be rolled over to the jackpot on 31 March.
