With two players short, it was not Trips all round as four players were chosen to do battle in a game of Pairs. But it was something of a record day, at least since before COVID. 52 players paid their Green fees and participated in an enjoyable game with the weather on their side.

There were visitors from Chatswood, St Ives, Asquith, Harbord and Warrawee and Killara as well as Dafna who can hardly be called a visitor.

The winning team of Dennis Gorrick, Kevin Toovey and Ken Alderton shared the best first prize of $60 with the regular trio of Patricia and Wilson Tan and Midori Matsuoka coming in second.  John Lancaster (visitor), Doug Murphy and Bobby Leonard rounded off the Leader Board.

Kevin Toovey, again in winning form, attempted to win the jackpot for his rink but failed so $60 will be added to the next jackpot.

Special mention was made of Midori Matsuoka who will be departing soon to represent Japan at the Asian Games in Malaysia.

No Friday Bowls will be held on 24 February due to the Women’s Carnival requiring all available green space.
