Weather uncertainty threatened our return to bowls, with quite a few player withdrawals. Our day commenced with 24 players. We played 4 bowl pairs – 2 games – 11 ends. Greens were heavy and the strong winds made for some interesting results.
Ken welcomed our players and visitors, adding in a poem for their enjoyment!
‘Suddenly it’s upon us – It’s Friday Bowls again – No changes to the green fees – The game remains the same”, reflecting the decision of the Friday Committee to absorb the increase in green fees, and slightly adjust prizes and jackpot winnings.
Lindsay Morris was our lucky player, drawing out his first rink number 10, and sharing the $104 jackpot with his partner Gavin McDonald and 1st game players Kevin Toovey and Ken Alderton
Two teams had two wins.
2nd place winners were Andy Little and Dafna Orbach, 2 wins, 13 ends won – each received a bottle of wine
1st place winners were Kevin Toovey and Ken Alderton, 2 wins, 14 ends won and shared $70
We had 4 draws today, and 2 teams of Gill and Denis, and Mark and David each getting a 5!
Happy Birthday wishes were given to Max Turnbull, for Sunday.
