Barrenjoey Smash Repairs Pairs – 1 Sept 2023
The first day of spring bought a small, and friendly group together. The day was chilly and a touch windy, and most players commented they were happy to return to the club house after their games.
Ken opened the day with his usual enthusiasm, and welcomed our 20 bowlers.
Our winners this week were Harvey Bowen and Graham Stewart, with 2 wins and ends won of 14. They received $60 prize money. Rody Manning and Max Turnbull also had 2 wins, and they won 12 ends, receiving $30 to share. Coming in 3rd place was John Gray and Peter Nixon with 1 win and 1 draw, ends won 15. The Men just outplayed Lorraine and Ian Fevre who also had 1 win and 1 draw, ends won 10. John and Peter each took home a bottle of wine.
Our lucky player drawn was Kevin Toovey, who didn’t follow up his luck by drawing his first game rink. Todays jackpot of $60 will carry over to next week.
After a well supported raffle, we finished the day with wishing all our Dads a very Happy Fathers Day for Sunday, and Rody kindly wished Ken and myself best wishes for our upcoming holiday.
