Men’s Championship Pairs 2022-23

It was a classic Pairs final today at Club Belrose. Four of our best bowlers facing off to try to win the coveted Pairs Champion title for 2022-23.

We had Rohan Dennis and John (Rowdy) Campton versus Steve Gliddon and Steve (Plum) Ashdown. The game proved to be as good as we had hoped for, with the teams locked at 2 all after 4 ends, 8 all after 10 ends, 14 all after 16 ends and a tantalising finish with Plum up 19-18 after 20 ends.

Rohan and Rowdy scored 2 shots in the 21st end to take out the title, but their hearts would have missed a beat when Plum delivered a beautiful final bowl, which went within millimetres of taking the jack and would have won him the game.

Its always a shame that someone has to lose such great match. Well done and congratulations to all the players.
