Christmas Bowls 2022

It was the Men’s Club afternoon of Christmas Bowls at the Club Belrose Bull pens today. 

There were 18 teams (+ 2 reserves) using 2 greens & playing 2 bowls triples over 4 games each of 6 ends on a team rotation basis. All reports were of a fun afternoon played in good spirit & camaraderie. 

Results were:-

* 1st Toucher (green 1) – Rody, Mick, Kevin, Spider, Warren & Vento. (2 jugs of Ale). 

* 1st Toucher (green 2) – Kevin, Marko, Franko, Alan, John & Graham. (2 jugs of Ale). 

* Most ends won overall – Craig, Noel & John.  Each received a bottle of wine. 

* Best dressed was Marko – more wine. 

The best performing team on Green 1 & on Green 2 played a 1 bowl 1 end “shoot out” to determine the days champions.  There was a large, vocal crowd on hand to witness this sudden death format. The jack was rolled to near maximum length. Pressure was on immediately & a few overweight bowls landed in the ditch. Matt’s early bowl remained the shot, thus the afternoon’s overall Champions were the team of Matt, Richard & Rawlo. The runners up were Neil, Kevin & Ken. Congratulations to both teams. 

* There were a number of prizes available for the lucky player draw. The major winners were Vento (leg of ham) & Richard Lewis (bottle of scotch). Club points & a few bottles of wine were also won. 

Thanks to Fitzy & Bob for turning up early to put the teams together & to Andy for his usual support. Also a massive thanks to everyone who played today making it such an enjoyable get together.
