Barrenjoey Smash Repairs Pairs – 6 Sept 2024
Ken welcomed our 32 bowlers, and thanked our sponsors – Barrenjoey Smash Repairs for their support.
Warm and windy conditions, and extremely fast greens, saw the usual 2 games of 11 ends, changed to 2 games of 9 ends. This change saw our players ending the day in a more timely manner.
We had 4 teams who won both games, with Bob and Geoff just missing out, coming in 4th place, with 2 wins and 10 ends won. Coming in 3rd place were Lorraine and Maggie, winning both games, 11 ends won, with a margin of 7. The girls took home a bottle of wine each. 2nd placegetters were Darrall and Richard, also with 2 winning games and 11 ends won, but with a margin of 10. They received prizemoney of $30. Our winners today were Harvey and Graham, with 2 wins, and 13 ends won, sharing the $60 prizemoney.
Number 1 was the lucky player – Ken Pride – who didn’t manage to pull his number 17 rink number out. Ken received a bottle of wine, and the jackpot creeps up for another chance next week.
First National Real Estate – The Forest – is our sponsor next week. Please put your names on the sheet in the bowls office foyer early, preferably as a team. Please appreciate that Friday Bowls is run by different volunteers each week, with the list of names received electronically on Thursday after 4pm. The bulk of the organising is done from our homes, where we do not have the office facilities, and contacts usually available for selection. We do our very best to accommodate all entries, and it is unfortunate that at times we can’t offer games, due to the structure of the pairs format.
